Home based sleep test V Lab based sleep test

Why should I do a sleep study at home?

We use COVIDIEN brand electrodes. This product is hypo-allergenic.

If a person has any concerns about any possible reactions to these electrodes, they should contact COVIDIEN for more information.

Please note: Medicare requires 8 hours minimum of data to validate the sleep test. This is not 8 hours of sleep. We ensure that you give us 8 hours of data by asking two things of you.

  1. Turn on our sleep testing unit at the beginning of your sleep test set up

2. Turn off the unit in the morning after 8 hours at least of time in bed.

A home based sleep study captures all the important information as that of a lab based sleep study. The compact nature of the equipment means that if you need to move at night there is no need for a sleep technician to unplug you from the equipment. Snoring is captured by sound wave- not actual sound recording so your privacy is assured. A home based study is far more comfortable than the lab based study. Our home delivery system means ultimate convenience for you. You do not have to sleep in a strange bed in a hospital. (The configuration of the home sleep equipment may vary slightly from this picture)

A lab based study requires a sleep technician to be present all night. These studies are better suited to children who need supervision. Audio and video devices hear and see everything you do all night, as well as someone watching you all night.
